Ultrasonic Testing
Applied Technical Services offers NDT ultrasonic testing (UT) to detect flaws, take dimensional measurements, and to do material characterization. When using NDT UT inspection method we are able to identify flaws and discontinuities. UT is recognized for having the highest depth of penetration to detect subsurface flaws. Our sophisticated ultrasonic testing equipment is highly accurate in determining flaw position and estimating size and shape. In most cases it is only necessary to have one-side access and our technicians have the ability to evaluate with immediate results. In addition to UT ATS offers ultrasonic thickness testing and phased array testing which are more specialized types of ultrasonic NDT testing.
ATS uses ultrasonic testing techniques that can detect common and uncommon discontinuities caused by base material processes and fabrication. We are experts in detecting flaws found in ingots, continuous castings, billets, plate and sheets, bar and rod, pipe and tubular products, forging, castings, composites, and welds.
Our certified staff of NDT technicians provide quality inspection services for a broad range of industry sectors throughout the US and abroad. NDT UT services are offered in our laboratories, field locations and/or customer premises.
